The Cats Don’t Need WiFi for Another Win

Darrell Bird/Cats Pause

Darrell Bird/Cats Pause

Darrell Bird/Cats Pause

It wasn’t as easy as the others, but the Cats remain undefeated in the Bahamas following an 83-71 win over Orlando Antigua’s Domincan Republic team.   With Cal once again sitting at the top of the bleachers, the Cats were tested by the Dominicans in the second half, narrowing a 20+ point lead down to single-digits at a few different points.

Tyler and Drew will (hopefully) have some post-game coverage for you, but it’s looking like they have less service than Gilligan’s Island down there.  We’ll relay all the news we can as fast as technology will let us.

I have Xfinity by Comcast. I watched the SEC Network on TV all last night, but I can’t watch the game on the ESPNwatch app using my xfinity account. It says i need to add the channel. Anyone else having this problem? Only being able to view the SEC Network on the TV, not online using an app.

I wasn’t paying super close attention, so I wonder if we kept our assist pace up. Didn’t see a lot of one-on-one basketball, which is always refreshing.

That 1 win in the last 7 games was the year we got bounced in the NIT. Even then, Loserville only beat us by 3!!

This team has had better early season ball movement than probably any Cal team at UK thus far. Cats by 15 at the Yum! Center.

Talented (adj) – selfish, destructive, arrogant
ex: Real basketball programs don’t have talented players, because talented players never want to play as a team (If every indication is otherwise, you must be hallucinating).

      ME’s (contraction) – me is
ex: If ME’s not happy, ME should try to downplay the success of ME enemy.

ME’s (pronoun) – first person possessive
ex: All the Crown Royal will be ME’s.

If one team does self-destruct, then we have another! I know math is hard for you, but try this one: 6 losses + 1 loss coming Dec27 = more laughter and joy for the BBN! Come on back now, ya hear?!

Lord–you guys are such suckers. Doesn’t it just feel wrong to get a boner watching the Kittens?

We save it for business here in Louisville. I send your girlfriend home if she wants to leave (unlikely).

Nothing is more juvenile, pathetic or douche-like than commenting on an opposing fanbase’s website when your team isn’t even playing….and that doesn’t even consider the vapid content of your posts.

Don’t you have a line beard to grow and a handle of crown royal to drink. Such a typical Louisville douche bag move. To comment on Big Brother’s exhibition games between arrests is just plain sad. Here’s a thought…. worry about Ricky 3 pumps and your terrible team and we’ll focus on our team until Dec 27th when the cats completely dismantle the pathetic 1-7 (after the game) Tards.

Redrum, even for you, your last comment was pathetic. Exposed as an unintelligent racist, you had nothing to come back with other than a lame “I do your girlfriend” desperation BS.

I doubt if you have ever been with a real woman outside of your family you inbred piece of prejudiced trash. Aside from your family, and yourself, your life is void of sexual intimacy.
Here is something you can’t argue, your cards will lose, again in basketball to the wildcats in December, again.

After the UK vs. UL basketball game in December at YUM, it will mark the beginning of the end for Rick Pitino as a coach for Louisville. The record setting, possibly all time blowout margin record over Louisville on their home floor will have Rick pulling a Tubby at the end of the season going someplace that is not a high profile name, to end his career.

Further, most of the Cardinal fans will have left YUM by the 15 minute mark of the second half, and will never even see the end of the game. They will be tied up in traffic trying to get home, with the other cardinal fans. All that will be left in the stands will be the BBN and they will party on the yum center floor, while the cardinals limp off the floor humiliated, after the monumental beat down, that will cause most to quit or transfer.

Jurich will have to do some radio and TV spots to reassure cardinal fans the program is not at the bottom, which will buy him time to find a replacement for Pitino by mid March.

It is over. UL will be less relavent than IU for years to come.

Then, even worse, the YUM center no longer is able to honor the deal with UL, and it is back to freedom hall after the live stock shows for UL basketball.

L1C4, throw up your L’s now Redrum, you ignorant, racist, bigot, lowlife.

Was disappointed at the play of D. Willis. It’s no secret that he has to play well in these exhibition games in order to sniff the court during the season. Today he shot the ball poorly, had some horrible turnovers, and was mostly tentative and ineffective. Get it together Derek…

Time for this dude to transfer-he simply does not have what it takes to play basketball at UK unless he’s content to sit at the end of the bench for the remainder of his career. He will never compete at the same level as our lottery picks and there’s no room for mediocrity during this run we’re on under Coach Cal.

And sorry folks, I don’t give a damn what state he’s from.

Still played decent defense. These were tougher players to defend today on the wing. Our entire second team struggled at times, giving up easy fouls and shots.

    • HanOfTheBluegrass
      4:23 pm August 15, 2014 Permalink

Also, while Willis didn’t score (0-4, including 0-3 from 3), he had 3 rebounds (as many as Lee, and more than Ullis, Booker, and the Harrisons combined). He also had 3 turnovers (which is up there with Towns and Andrew), but it’s hard to dog anyone’s TOs today without knowing how many of them were bad passes vs mistakes by teammates. On the other hand, he had 2 assists and a steal. Rounded it out with 2 fouls.

No, he didn’t look as good today as he did in the other games, but he did pretty well as the second team’s wing, including keeping the ball moving on plays that ended up being easy layups.

He won’t see many minutes this year, and a redshirt may be best, but as long as he and the staff are happy, he certainly isn’t hurting the team in any way.

Lol I agree with Jon Hood, although I wouldn’t be as harsh. The only way Willis could possibly contribute to this team (other than in practice) would be if a majority of our guys leave after this season and Cal doesn’t land all the recruits he hopes to. Then I could see Willis playing significant minutes and helping us out tremendously, but if that doesn’t happen he won’t play at all and should transfer for his own good.

    Great coverage throughout this week.
I checked and yes hell froze over for a few minutes as Jay Bilas actually gave UK players a speech for the ages. It was stated with grace, passion, and most of all…inspiration. I’m glad Jay has warmed up to the UK program, at least for a few moments, and put away his (historical) Duke/ACC is everything/anything mantra.
Alex man you are truly A BEAST.
Harrisons great team play. I’ll always be thankful you both came back.
Willis I said all last year that you deserved playing time and not only have you come back but you have come back better.
    Karl amazing.
Marcus no one in the country can sleep on him he is on a mission.
To everyone of the other players I am very proud of you. As a six decades + UK fan, raised – grew up – played high school basketball varsity all 4 years, this team is…exceptional in every regard.
UK fans fasten your seat, or couch or lazyboy chair, because this season is going to be quite a ride.

Well, that couldn’t be further from the truth….

You obviously haven’t listened to him, making it clear that this statement was completely false and conjured up on assumptions. You’d never know Bilas was a Dukie, that’s how little he refers to them and the ACC.

He’s even worked extensively with Cal at camp’s in Lexington in the past, helping to develop UK’s big men. I hate when fans make bogus claims like you have.

The only negative I took from the game was UK’s lack of defense in the second half–at least concerning drives by the DR. But, heck, it’s only August and I’m sure once WCS gets back, that will be taken care of! Go Cats!

Just watched the game on DVR. Work interfered with C-A-T-S.

I thought the defense backed off after the injury to the Dominican’s player. Probably on purpose. Nobody wants to cause a national team to lose a player just before the FIFA tournament. Especially the Cats against Coach O’s team.
