Jordan Bone’s career at Tennessee is over. Probably. The junior point guard just declared for the NBA Draft, and told Evan Daniels he intends to stay in it barring a major change of plans.

“Well you know that there is always a chance that I come back but honestly if I put myself in a position to go then I’m going all in,” Bone said. “It’s a once in a lifetime chance and not many people can say that they’re in the position. I’m extremely blessed to be in my position but if the opportunity is there to take then I’m going to take it.”

Bone was a key part of Tennessee’s run this season, averaging 13.5 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game. He was particularly pesky vs. Kentucky, averaging 21.3 points and 4.7 assists in three games vs. the Cats, including 27 points in the Vols’ rout in Knoxville.

Tennessee will also lose seniors Admiral Schofield, Kyle Alexander, and possibly junior Grant Williams, who has yet to announce whether or not he’ll enter the draft as well.

They are going to suuuuuck next year. Nice to see that recruiting 3 and 4 year guys really worked out for them. I mean making the round of 32 and the sweet 16 one time is really impressive.

I don’t think they will suck. But you are exactly right about the rest. It takes 3-4 years to develop 3-4 year guys obviously. Would our fan base be happy going to the elite 8 every 4 years?

Some of our fan base wouldn’t be happy with a title every four years. Or every two years.

Yea that’s great news coming out of Tennessee. In other words put the Vols 14th in pre season rankings

Best player and NBA prospect on their team. Try and change my mind. The fact that Admiral and Grant got all of the praise this year is ridiculous.

On a consistent basis Grant and Admiral were better. Look at the stats.

Admiral is by far their best project by virtue of being big, defending and shooting well. Literally all you need to be a good bench player. Although Bone isn’t far behind. Williams will be out of the league in a few years since he can’t shoot consistently or get away with flopping at the pro level.

Now there’s a guard ready to make the jump.
