Status of UK’s trip to London now “up in the air”

Add the Basketball Hall of Fame’s London Showcase to the list of events that are in jeopardy due to the coronavirus. Kentucky’s trip across the pond to play Michigan in basketball is still on for Dec. 6 in London’s O2 Arena, but it is no longer a sure thing due to all of the uncertainties around sports and around the world.

“It is up in the air right now,” Calipari said of next season’s London game. “I say up in the airwhere is this thing going? We probably have until about June to make that decision.”

Calipari wonders if the two sides should consider something closer to home. “It is being thought of,” he said.

So hold off on making those travel plans, not that you should be making travel plans right now. And for those who have already booked the London trip, and I know those people exist, we hope it goes on as planned for your sake.

As crazy as cancelling something a little over 8 months away seems, this is the right call. No one in their right mind would book flights and rooms right now and doing so last minute would be unaffordable for most. Have it in the states….we will certainly need everyone to be spending their money in the US vs other countries.
