University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible. talks to Karl Towns about Kentucky and Karl Towns

UK’s first 2014 commitment sat down with Sports Illustrated to discuss his recruitment to Kentucky, life as an emerging star in high school and who he modeled his game after growing up. Towns wanted to be the next Magic Johnson until his body grew too big to play the point. That’s when he turned to tape of Len Bias and Hakeem Olajuwon.

When asked if he has a taste of Big Blue Nation, he said right now he just has the appetizer and he can’t wait to get to Lexington.

Kid’s so well spoken.

I am really impressed with this young man and his family. Mom, Dad, and son have worked together for his future which looks very bright. He not only is a very good basketball player, he excels in the classroom too. Good luck Karl and BBN can’t wait for you.

I agree, this kid seems to be very comfortable with his station in life. Mom and Dad’s work shows.

Wonder how he feels about backing up Dakari and possibly WCS next year.

No way he backs up anyone next year, with WCS there or not. Truth is he can start at the 5 for UK right now. WCS is a good player, but like they say he doesn’t even look at the rim and is not a real offensive threat. Dakari is just a project, a big project at that. I mean how was he a 5 star Mcdonald’s all american recruit? He rebounds okay, but his lack of athleticism effects that part of his game. He’s really slow and he can not finish lobs (Which is critical for the UK Center position), he does have pretty good basketball IQ. Karl has a complete offensive game, he can hit the 3 consistently, has a good back to the basket game and really pass the ball. He rebounds like his life depends on it and can block shots. And I think we can all see that he is going to be a GREAT teammate and Student as well.

Wvs may ge gone next year, if not, towns can play a stretch 4. We’re gonna have a huge team next year– towns, dakari, lee, willis, lyles–all 6-9 and up.

ShelbyJoe, You hit it on the head with your comment. We are huge this year and will be next year too. I am not positive that both of the twins will go in the draft so that might be another hold over. I also like Hawkins and Ulis at PG.

#3… if that’s what he’d be doing it would mean he be on a championship caliber team and he’d probably feel pretty good about it. With his shooting stroke he’d probably see a lot of time on the wing with those other two guys around.

What a polite, well-spoken, young man. I’m sure his parents are proud, and they are to be commended for the great job they have done.

With Aaron, Andrew, Poythress, Floreal, Hawkins, Willis, Johnson, Lee, Townes, Lyles, Booker, Ulis and possibly WCS, next year may be the best and deepest team in Coach Cals time at UK. By the way LOSERVILLE TROLLS, UK has 3 players coming in next year with a 4.0 GPA to go along with a very good group already here, kinda goes against what you think of UK players doesn’t it.
