Should “One and Dones” Be in the Rafters?

That was the question Mary Jo Perino asked Jack “Goose” Givens and Jeff Sheppard on Hey Kentucky!  You will be surprised by their responses.

Unfortunately, technical difficulties prevented Daniel from posting yesterday’s show from Vegas, but I believe eight minutes with Mary Jo, Jack and Jeff is pretty great by itself.

I’m with Goose on this one. I’m inclined to think you have to have put in more than one year to get your name in the rafters. But maybe. The best player on an undefeated championship team would be hard to deny (though I’d argue the whole damn team should be up there). So yeah, I’m not adamantly opposed. I’d have to be convinced. There’d be an extra hurdle to clear for one-and-dones.

I do feel strongly that you can’t look at what the player did in the NBA. You have to consider only how they performed as a Kentucky player.

Anything referencing pitino should be excised and permanently burned from all memory. His move to our arch enemy coupled with his immoral and unethical behavior and intending to cover up an abortion not to mention allowing/promoting prostitution within his own teams deserves no less.
