Steve Forbes can make up for all his tomfoolery over the last several days with one important decision: supporting the transfer request of Olivier Sarr.

ESPN’s Seth Greenberg went on Tom Leach’s radio show Friday morning and gave the Big Blue Nation some good news about Kentucky’s latest incoming transfer. Greenberg expects the newest head coach at Wake Forest to support the transfer attempt of Sarr to Lexington.

“I think coach Forbes would be supportive of that,” Greenberg said about Sarr applying for an immediate transfer waiver. “Now I don’t know how the NCAA will look at it. But sometimes you just gotta do what’s right, and doing what’s right is letting this kid play.”

Greenberg said he talked to Forbes the day before and that the Demon Deacon coach told him, “I hope he [Sarr] plays. If he doesn’t want to be here [at Wake Forest] he doesn’t want to be here. We’re trying to build a program and I want guys that want to be here.”

Sarr’s situation is a bit different than most, considering his former coach, Danny Manning, was fired in April, typically much later in the season than what is normally expected. He also could have entered the NBA Draft, but Manning convinced him to come back before he later got canned.

This is going to be a lengthy process, but Forbes’ support will go a long way.

At the end of the day, the NCAA makes the call. I don’t have a lot of faith in them. It would be a smart move to allow it. I’m just not sure they are that smart..
