Second-grader picked Willie Cauley-Stein for his biography project

A young boy in Scott County was given the assignment of creating a “bio-me” of someone famous for his first ever school project, and he picked his favorite UK basketball player, Willie Cauley-Stein, over all those old presidents and other boring people.
The boy’s mother told us he had recently seen UK for the first time at the Blue-White game and he loved the way Willie dunked the ball. “He was totally zeroed in, giving a big ‘BOOYAH, in yo face,’ every time he witnessed a dunk, and then the ‘serious’ face would take back over Til the next,” she wrote.
I’m big fan of these two sections of the project:
*****
I Think:
1. He is cool and has a good sense of clothes and style!
2. He is awesome at dunking the ball!
Questions You Would Ask Them:
1. Can I be your friend?
2. Why did you choose to play basketball instead of football?
3. How did you learn to dunk the ball so good?
*****
If he didn’t get an A+, I’ve lost all hope in our school systems.

I am absolutely stealing this idea for my kids’ next project! What better way to get a kid excited about school than adding UK basketball to the mix! Start ’em early!!!
Love those ears.
This is adorable!
That would be a college credit at UNC
Perhaps. But the project would have been done for him by a “tutor”.
