For the fourth year in a row, Kentucky will start Selection Sunday by playing for the SEC Championship. A win over Arkansas will give the Cats three straight SEC Tournament Titles. It’s the seventh SEC Tournament final in Calipari’s eight years. Cal;s Cats have won four of those games. A win today would be the program’s 30th SEC Tournament Championship.
We lost an hour springing forward last night, so let’s not waste anymore time.

The Cats are Becoming Selfless
Malik Monk scored 20 points against Alabama, but that was not what impressed John Calipari the most during the game.
“I had he (Monk) and Isaiah out and I’m going to put them in, but the team on the floor was on a run and they say to me, ‘Let them stay in.’ That’s where this is starting to go.
“The only — other than family, the only people happier for De’Aaron Fox was Malik Monk, like happy as heck at how he played.”
Malik Monk is Already Awake
Early tip-offs have eliminated Kentucky’s usual gameday shoot-around, a ritual Monk has relied on to get his shot going. After scoring just two points Friday against Georgia, he had a personal shoot-around with Wenyen Gabriel.
He said after the game he plans on doing the same thing this morning too.
Jerry Tipton + Isaiah Briscoe = Gold
Of all the weird videos that came from yesterday’s postgame trip to the locker room, this is by far the weirdest.
For the record, if I’m ever sent to deserted island, I’m bringing Jerry and Briscoe. GOLD, Jerry! pic.twitter.com/XXoXUFLY5C

What Arkansas said about the Matchup
JAYLEN BARFORD: It’s a neutral site. We got a lot of confidence and we’re not too much worried about what Kentucky is doing. We’re worrying about what we’re doing.
DUSTY HANNAHS: They’re a good team, but so are we. We’re playing really good basketball right now, and we’re ready to face anybody in the country. So it should be a great challenge tomorrow.
MOSES KINGSLEY: Yeah, I feel like we have to come out and play good defense just like we did tonight. If we do that, we’re going to be fine.
Today’s Tale of the Tape
Where Will Kentucky Go?
Regardless of today’s outcome, the bracket experts have reached a consensus: Kentucky is a two-seed that will play in Indianapolis. Just three hours away from Lexington, it’s the ideal destination. However, crazier things have happened on Selection Sunday. You never know what’s going to happen, but the good news is that Mitch Barnhart is on the Selection Committee.
Will the Bracket Leak?
Last year’s painfully long Selection Show was put out of its misery early after the bracket was leaked online. The leak led CBS to shorten the show to just 90 minutes instead of two hours. It also caused the NCAA to reduce the number of people and entities who have advance access to this year’s bracket. We might not get to see it early, but CBS said we will see the entire bracket within the first 30-40 minutes of the show.
