Sacha Killeya-Jones wasn’t on the N.C. State sideline Wednesday night when the Wolfpack hosted Syracuse down in Raleigh. After the game, N.C. State head coach Kevin Keatts was asked about Killeya-Jones’ surprise absence from the bench.

Keatts said, “Sacha is no longer on the team. That’s all I’ll say for now.”

A former Kentucky Wildcat for two seasons, Killeya-Jones is (or was) sitting out this season as per the NCAA transfer rule. He averaged 3.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 48 career appearances in Lexington in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.

Should have stayed at UK. He was coming into his own and would have been getting minutes.

Maybe next year. Nick can’t even get minutes this year.

He’s a good kid that was booted off his team?

Making a mistake doesn’t make someone a bad person.

Looks like another unfortunate example that the grass isn’t always greener elsewhere in this transfer-happy, instant gratification world.

He’s secretly coming back to UK. Since we’ve struck out on bigs in the 19′ class he decided coming back would benefit both parties.

serious question. can he even do that?

Yes, he can. UL has a player that played for them about 5 years ago on the roster again (Akoy Agau)

He played pretty well at the end if you remember. Role player…

Judging by the picture I’m guessing he’s on the weed..

Seriously, if we do strike out on the remaining bigs, I’d take him back as the backup to Nick and EJ, especially if there were no serious problems.

Speaking of Nick, where’s he been the last couple of games??

he was the big guy sitting on the end of the bench. Where did you think he was?

As much as I would like to see Richards get better, it will never happen. Unfortunately Richards has reached his ceiling basically a Skal 2.0. Want to know why were missing out on big men in recruiting….we have issues developing them now. The last decent one was bam, and he was pretty consistent all year, not much developing with him. We need some fresh assistants, sure miss big o

Yeah I mean KAT and AD were total failures. And so far I haven’t seen too many big men who struggled at UK suddenly take off elsewhere.

What do you mean catsarerunnin? Didn’t you see how awesome Marcus Lee did with California?

Ohhh yeah. I forgot. 11 points 6 boards a game. My bad.

Got to read the whole post dude. Like I said we have not had a reliable big since BAM. KAT was before, pretty sure AD was too. The post was pointing out the fact that we “UK” have lost the ability to develope bigs. That’s why they are not coming.

I read the whole post. I just disagree.

I guess if you’re 12 years old plus can’t remember whether AD played before KAT, then 2 years is an eternity.

Cal pushed him out essentially. Give me him over Richards all day
