Russillo and anonymous NBA scouts discuss Karl Towns

towns

Ryen Russillo of ESPN Radio spoke to three NBA scouts about the three top NBA prospects in a special feature for Grantland.com this morning. With all due respect to Jahlil Okafor and D’Angelo Russell, I’m only here to share the section about Karl Towns, who Russillo and his three anonymous scouts say will be the No. 1 overall pick to Minnesota.

One of the scouts said, “You know the story about how Dean Smith was the only person to keep Jordan under 20 points per game? It’s the same thing with Towns. Who was the one guy to keep Towns down? John Calipari. That’s how talented he is. I think he’s no. 1; he is clearly no. 1.

Russillo adds, “The more I go back and watch Towns, the more I wonder why he isn’t being talked about as a franchise-changing player.”

Read all four of their opinions on Towns, and Okafor and Russell, over at Grantland.com.

If you stop after they’re done with KAT, you’ll miss Scout 3 mocking the ridiculous name of UofL’s arena:

“A year ago, he’s in high school, now he’s in the Yum Yum Center with 20,000 people.”
