Rupp Arena led the nation in attendance last season

Pat yourselves on the back, Big Blue Nation. You led all of college basketball in home attendance for the 18th time in 21 seasons.

Kentucky men’s basketball averaged 23,361 fans per game in Rupp Arena in 2015-16, totaling 397,148 fans over the course of 17 games to watch the Cats. UK was one of only seven schools with at least 300,000 fans at its home games this season.

Going all the way back to Rupp Arena’s first season in 1976-77, Kentucky has ranked either first or second in average attendance every single year.

Let’s celebrate with a new video board next year!

This is generally determined by whether Syracuse is good in a given year, right?

i wonder if any one has a ranking according to the number of empty seats. syracuse would have to be near the top of that ranking every year, i would think. they edged out the cats in attendance by 300 per game in ’14-15, which means they had 11,500 empty seats per game. it was somewhere in the 14,000 range this past year.

And you still can hear Cal yelling. It’s not about how many people it’s about how rowdy those people get
