Rupp Arena auctioning off pieces of original court, other items

Want to own a piece of Rupp Arena? To make room for the renovations at Rupp and the Lexington Center, the Lexington Center Corporation is auctioning off surplus items, including pieces of the original Rupp Arena court, which was in place from 1976-2000. Other items up for grabs include…

  • Concourse signs
  • Light fixtures
  • Desks & cabinets
  • Concession equipment (food warmers, kiosks, etc.)
  • Tables & chairs
  • Display cases
  • Large rolling carts,
  • Peg boards
  • Snow salt dispenser
  • Various hardware
  • 20-foot Christmas tree (from The Shops)

The auction takes place behind Rupp Arena beneath the Jefferson Street Bridge Friday, August 17 starting at 10 a.m. Interested parties can inspect the items starting Monday. All items are sold as is.

  1. I bought 2 pieces, 1 for me and 1 for my dad, that were sold in the early 2000’s (mine is a blue piece mounted on a plaque). It says 1976-2001. Which one is right?
