Rick Pitino puts Miami mansion on the market for $25.9 million

Need a breather from Signing Day and Kentucky’s loss to Tennessee? According to the Wall Street Journal, Rick Pitino just put his newly-renovated Miami mansion on the market for $25.9 million.

The mansion, located in the affluent Indian Creek Village neighborhood, has been on and off the market over the years, most recently in 2013 for $13.9 million. Pitino has since renovated the 7,295 square-foot, eight-bedroom mansion to include a second-floor gym with steam shower.

If you’ve got $25.9 million laying around, here’s what it could buy you:

Interesting timing.

I assume he’ll be using the funds from the sale to buy a horse farm…

    What’s interesting about the timing?
Remember a few years ago when he was selling his house in Mockingbird Gardens and you were certain that he was leaving Louisville and getting a divorce, etc, when he said he was merely downsizing bc all of the kids were now out of the house. You all said he was lying and covering up his departure. He then bought a smaller home, right in the same neighborhood. Jeez. I just don’t get the Pitino envy. It is so strong on this board with the writers.

Remember a few months ago when that lady called Katina Powell wrote a book that exposed that hookers paid for recruits and players by a UofL assistant coach? You remember that the NCAA doesn’t look kindly on things like that? That’s what’s so interesting about the timing IDIOT!!!

Yeah, I don’t get why the timing is interesting either. Now if the news was he is BUYING a mansion in Florida, or California or Vegas, that would be noteworthy.

Talking about our former coach and current coach of our instate rival doesn’t seem to to register in their thick skulls beyond “yer ubsessed derp”.

When he goes to UNLV or wherever, and he makes news, it will still be reported on your sites too.

But keep defending Louisville, “cat fan and alum”. Lol!!!!!

Most people, UK fan or not, are a bit envious of someone who lists their house for $25.9 million – that’s more than 200x the median home value in the state. Hell, it’s 114x the median home value in Miami. Hate him or not, Ricky is living large.

Are you living with Rick, you kind of sound like his lady.

Envious of a man who is the lyingest lier that ever lied? Or of a man that said (on the record) a sexual encounter only last 15 seconds? Or a man that is facing a hooker scandal, where most of his NCAA wins over the last 7 years could be taken away? Do not even get me started on the man’s looks, gross! Envious?? If you gave people who respect themselves a choice, most would not trade places with Rick Pinto. He is a sad sad story, that is fit for the hallmark channel.

Yeah I don’t really like slick Rick anymore but I do have to say that a $25 million mansion in Indian Ck Village is kinda envy worthy.

Yeah, I’d probably go through all that stuff to have a 25 million dollar house

So where are the stripper poles (ho po’s?), or do you have to pay extra for them?

A lot of people downsize or sell secondary homes when their cash-flow dries up (i.e. retirement). Just sayin…

    I got 5 on it.

Rick has tried selling this house so many times, don’t get why this is big news. Last time it was listed was 2013 of almost $14 Million; how it jumped to almost $26 million when you couldn’t sell it at $14 million I guess makes sense in Rick mind. 1st time the house was listed was right after the Sypher Trial.

So it goes back on the market every time another major sex scandal surfaces…

Do you guys just make stuff up as you go along?
Karen Sypher affair happened in 2003 and her extortion attempt went public in 2009, not 2013. By 2013 she’d been in prison for 2 years. Your timeline is ridiculous. Again, you guys need to chill with the Pitino envy. It makes you say some pretty stupid stuff.
So, explain to us how Pitino putting this house on the market in 2013 was a reflection of him needing money because of the 2009 extortion attempt.
You guys STRETCH over everything Pitino.
This house is an INVESTMENT, clearly something that you all know nothing about. With INVESTMENTS, you ALWAYS are open to turning them if you feel you can get more for them than market value. That’s why you constantly have them for sale. It doesn’t cost money to list something for sale. It’s just smart business. He could load up with $20mil, go and by another one for $10mil, and profit. This is what RICH AND SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE DO.
Get a grip on yourselves. You make us all look like idiots.

So what you’re saying damage_control is that he needs the money because of Katina Powell??? Seriously, explain it, what does Katina Powell have to do with his mansion IN MIAMI???

That is a siiiick location. You’re still in Miami Beach, but out of the traffic. About 10 minutes to Fontainebleau. It won’t get $26M, but may fetch close to $20M.
