Rick Pitino is Still Full of It

Approximately how many times Rick has beaten Cal. (via NESN)

Rick Pitino has been known to stretch the truth over the years.  To say he has become an expert in hyperbole would be an understatement.

Today Rick crawled out of his cave to make an appearance on a radio show with a man who knows Muhammad Ali.  When discussing the upcoming rivalry game at Rupp Arena, he acted like it didn’t matter.

“I’ve coached at both places. I never got into the rivalry when I was at Kentucky, and I’ve never gotten into the rivalry when I’ve been at Louisville, because I don’t like getting my players nervous. “

Sounds exactly what a nervous person would say before losing the rivalry game for the eighth time in nine tries.

A preview of what you’ll see from Pitino on Saturday.

Nich Roush, please do the sensible thing and continue to report what the rest of the transcript says. Rather than cut and paste portions of the truth, do readers the favor of exposing everything that was said.

“Does it mean a lot to me inside? No question about it. But I don’t want my team to feel that way, because young guys get uptight, and I don’t want them getting uptight”
