Rex Chapman Foundation COVID-19 Relief Fund set to grant $50,000 to fight pandemic

Rex Chapman’s foundation is set to make a significant contribution to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

This evening, the former Kentucky star announced his newly-founded Rex Chapman Foundation COVID-19 Relief Fund would be providing seven grants totaling $50,000 in New York.

“The Chapman COVID-19 Relief Fund is honored to announce 7 grants totaling $50K in the N.Y. area,” Chapman said in the statement. “Supporting our medical providers and servicing the most vulnerable is what we are here for. Details to follow. Thank you for your support.”

As the coronavirus pandemic has grown in recent weeks, the Rex Chapman Foundation partnered with Blue Grass Community Foundation to establish the Rex Chapman Foundation COVID-19 Relief Fund.

“During this time of uncertainty, we are adapting to a “new normal”. Many citizens are not prepared for the economic and emotional upheaval that this pandemic has created,” the foundation’s website reads. “This Relief Fund will provide funds to any non-profit organizations that are providing support and aid to those impacted by COVID-19 nationally.”

Chapman added that through April 6, 100% of the profits on “Block or Charge” t-shirts and hoodies will go to the Rex Chapman Foundation/Rex Chapman COVID-19 Relief Fund for individuals throughout the nation “struggling due to opioid addiction & coronavirus.”
