Report: SEC Tournament Championship moving back to 1 p.m.

John Wall SEC Championship

Excellent news: Dan Wolken is reporting that the SEC Men’s Tournament Championship game is moving back to the 1 p.m. time slot. This past year, the game was at 3:15 p.m. ET, which caused headaches for those traveling back from Atlanta and left very little time between the game and the Selection Show. Thankfully for this blogger, the Georgia Dome staff was nice enough to show it on the jumbotrons for us stragglers.

Wolken says that the game will be moved from ABC to ESPN, and that the American Athletic Conference game will follow it. In 2015, the Tournament returns to its semi-permanent home in Nashville, which also makes this blogger very happy.

Great news on the start time, but eff Nashville. It’s fine once in a while, but not as a permanent site. The hotels gouge, there is no public transportation and the parking flat out sucks. Variety is better; the tourney should move around.
