As we wait to hear what the future holds for P.J. Washington, Jarred Vanderbilt and Wenyen Gabriel, one NBA Insider is reporting that Kentucky will add a grad transfer to the frontcourt.
Jordan Schultz, a Yahoo NBA Insider that hosts a podcast with C.J. McCollum, Tweeted that Stanford’s Reid Travis is expected to take his name out of the NBA Draft for one more year of college.
Multiple sources are speculating that #Stanford PF Reid Travis is returning to school — but, in Lexington, KY. Would become a graduate transfer at #Kentucky and an enormous addition for the Wildcats, if true. Talented big man averaged 19.5 points, 8.7 rbs for the Cardinal.
Schultz’s report is carefully worded: “Multiple sources are speculating.” The speculation is not really new. We’ve known for quite some time that Stanford’s leading scorer could become a graduate transfer. However, this is the first time an outside outlet has confirmed the speculation swirling around Lexington.
This report adds fuel to the fire that Travis will become a Wildcat, but we’ll have to wait a little longer to see if that comes to fruition.
Jeff Goodman now reports that Travis will withdraw from the NBA Draft.
Stanford’s Reid Travis will withdraw and transfer elsewhere, sources told ESPN. The odds-on favorite to land Travis is Kentucky.
