Read of the Day: ESPN Profiles Brad Calipari’s Personal Growth at Detroit Mercy

Brad Swag is no longer on the Kentucky sideline in the spotlight. And that’s the way he likes it.

After earning his degree in three years in Lexington, Brad Calipari chose to complete his college basketball career elsewhere. So far it’s been a success on and off the court.

Through his first 14 games at Detroit Mercy he’s scored in double figures five times while knocking down 42% of his three-point attempts. Most importantly, Brad is enjoying life outside of his father’s shadow. The youngest Calipari told ESPN that it just feels different outside of Lexington.

“Even if people aren’t saying anything, you can feel someone staring at you, looking at you, you know,” he said. “But [I] don’t really have that here.”

A compelling read by Michael Rothstein, the profile touches on Brad’s infamous tattoo and why he ultimately decided to transfer from UK. Even though it’s only been just over a semester, Brad Calipari has found his own way at Detroit Mercy.

He was getting stared at because he was dressed like he fell out of Marilyn Manson’s closet. Good luck Brad, good luck
