Ramon Harris is an NBA D-League Champion

BmPOvRPCYAASd64

Congrats to Ramon Harris, whose Fort Wayne Mad Ants won the NBA D-League Championship over the weekend, sweeping the Santa Cruz Warriors in a best-of-three series. The Mad Ants finished the regular season with a D-League best 34-16 record, and swept the playoffs.

Harris, in his second year with the Mad Ants, averaged a career-high 6.2 points and 3.3 rebounds this season, and said in the locker room afterwards that he’s proud to have done something no one else has done in the franchise’s history. Watch his locker room speech below:

It seems like only yesterday we got that first picture of Ramon, pointing to the back of his UK t-shirt somewhere in Alaska.

Ramon might be my favorite obscure UK player of all time. Always makes me laugh and sometimes scratch my head. Good for him

That was good Ramon, that was real good. Sorry you didn’t get to say something like that with Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe, etc, but you’ve got a championship trophy, they don’t. Enjoy the moment. Best of luck in the future.

Razor may want to rethink his contract holdout with the Washington Wizards.

Underrated defensive player for the Wildcats during his entire career.

I wanted to make fun of this, but then I remembered how excited I was when we won our C League softball tourney. Go get ’em Razor.

Alaskan Players have a pretty solid record of winning championships. Ramon, d-league. Boozer-NCAA. Trajan Langdon-Euroleague. Doron Perkins-Euroleague. Mario Chalmers-NBA. Not bad for a bunch of igloo dwellers.

One of my all-time favorite put everything on the court players. He deserves a championship. We are all proud of Ramon Harris. I hope he gets a shot to play as a defensive stopper in the league someday. Great teammate.
