On Tuesday we brought up the discussion of Kentucky’s nine-year run versus Villanova’s nine-year run, and which you would prefer as a fan.
On one hand, you have UK’s one title, four Final Fours, the NBA stars, the fun and the gold standard; on the other, you have Villanova’s two titles, but seven tournament appearances that didn’t go past the Sweet 16.
We put it to a poll on Twitter and the 24-hour results are now in: 71 percent picked Kentucky’s run over Villanova’s.
I suppose this is a little skewed considering it was put out to Matt’s followers on Twitter, which is a UK dominant crowd. But I agree with the 71 percent… Give me nine years of fun and being in contention with only one title, over seven years of early exits and two titles.
Jay Wright’s suits win over Calipari’s though. That’s a landslide victory.
