Big Blue Nation, the team is ready for you to invade Atlanta — err, CATLANTA. Oh yes, much to Drew Franklin’s chagrin, the players seemed to embrace the nickname in the locker room this afternoon.
“I feel like in Idaho, it was almost like an away game,” Wenyen Gabriel said. “But now we’re back at home, in Catlanta. We expect to see a lot of blue in the stands.”
In case you forgot, the players didn’t enjoy the city of Boise too much.
“I didn’t really like Boise,” PJ Washington said. “There wasn’t really much to do, it was cold, there were mountains everywhere. To just come here to Atlanta, it’s just great. Having it be basically like a home crowd atmosphere will be wonderful for us.”
“We always play good when we have a lot of blue in the crowd. The Big Blue always brings their energy to the game, and I feel like that helps fuel us.”
“We’re going to have a lot of fans here and it’s definitely a big advantage,” Hamidou Diallo said. “But we’ve still got to come out and play Kentucky basketball.”
“It’s going to be fun to come out and see all the fans here,” Washington said. “Just to hear all the BBN chants will be good for us.”
Bring it, Catlanta. Meow.
