Players ready for Kentucky fans to invade Catlanta

Big Blue Nation, the team is ready for you to invade Atlanta — err, CATLANTA. Oh yes, much to Drew Franklin’s chagrin, the players seemed to embrace the nickname in the locker room this afternoon.

“I feel like in Idaho, it was almost like an away game,” Wenyen Gabriel said. “But now we’re back at home, in Catlanta. We expect to see a lot of blue in the stands.

In case you forgot, the players didn’t enjoy the city of Boise too much.

“I didn’t really like Boise,” PJ Washington said. “There wasn’t really much to do, it was cold, there were mountains everywhere. To just come here to Atlanta, it’s just great. Having it be basically like a home crowd atmosphere will be wonderful for us.”

Gabriel agreed.

“We always play good when we have a lot of blue in the crowd. The Big Blue always brings their energy to the game, and I feel like that helps fuel us.”

“We’re going to have a lot of fans here and it’s definitely a big advantage,” Hamidou Diallo said. “But we’ve still got to come out and play Kentucky basketball.”

“It’s going to be fun to come out and see all the fans here,” Washington said. “Just to hear all the BBN chants will be good for us.”

Bring it, Catlanta. Meow.

If the Cats somehow pull a title out of their rear I will retire from KSR. You will never hear from me again. They gotta win though.

It’s possible. Calipari has won 28 NCAA tournament games at UK already. Which is the most in the country by far. Most people don’t know that.

Tyler, where is the KSR pregame show going to be in ATL tomorrow? Born and raised in KY. Live in ATL now. We have tickets to the game and planning on getting downtown mid afternoon. Plans are hinging on when and where the KSR show is. Listen to the morning show everyday and always the pre and post game shows. Would love to go see it live and have the chance tomorrow. Where? Please.

No public shows tomorrow. If UK wins tomorrow night, pregame show will be at a public location TBD.

PJ made me laugh. To some of us “mountains everywhere” is a wonderful thing.

It’s funny because he went to HS in Nevada. I love mountains but Boise is isolated and they were very disrespectful of UK. Glad we dominated there.

There are some interesting mountains in Nevada on the way from Vegas to Death Valley if I remember correctly.

Drew doesn’t like the nickname “Catlanta”? Here’s my 2 cents on KSR monikers, feel feel to disagree and rake me over the coals:

    Catlanta > BBNBA

If I want info on NBA players who used to play for the Cats I’ll go to their teams’ websites or ESPN, CBSSports, etc. My loyalties lie with the name on the front of the jersey, not on the back of it.
