Here’s a storyline to keep an eye on today: the status of Ohio State guard Duane Washington Jr.
Washington is the Buckeyes’ second-leading scorer and has missed the last two games — including the loss to Minnesota on Dec. 15 — with a rib injury. According to Jeff Goodman, he’s expected to return to action tomorrow vs. Kentucky as long as he can practice today.
Washington is averaging 11.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 22.9 minutes per game. He’s Ohio State’s best three-point shooter, hitting 22 of 41 threes this season (53.7%), including four vs. North Carolina back on Dec. 4. If he’s able to go tomorrow, that’s very good news for the Buckeyes.
Practices take place later this afternoon at T-Mobile Arena. We’ll bring you the latest from Kentucky’s media opportunity at approximately 5:45 p.m.
