Ohio State freshman Mickey “Man Bun” Mitchell declared eligible by NCAA

Watch out, folks. That terrifying 6’7″, 225 lbs., man-bun sporting specimen is going to be eligible for his first college game tomorrow afternoon. Translation: Ohio State freshman Mickey Mitchell was ruled eligible by the NCAA this afternoon and can play tomorrow against Kentucky.

No one really knows for sure why the NCAA was looking into Mitchell, but many believe it was due to improper benefits he and his family received while playing AAU ball in Texas. You know what those (alleged!) improper benefits didn’t include? Haircuts.

Who knows how good Mitchell is — he was a four-star recruit — but he’ll be available immediately for the Buckeyes. Sadly, social media tells me he cut the man bun off a few weeks ago, so we can’t even make fun of that.

Not even a good man bun to be honest.

He’s actually a pretty solid player. He was ranked in the top 5 his freshman year of high school but got an acl injury which made him drop pretty bad. He’s a 6’7 point-foward who is decently athletic and has good passing skills, but has a worse jump shot than Dakari. Don’t see him making a huge a difference, but he will probably be one of OSU’s better players.
