It seems like almost every day I am seeing on Twitter the emergence of a new podcast about sports. If you’re a person like me, you got to love it. Podcasts give you a reason to listen to sports for hours at a time when there aren’t even any games on. Of course, some podcasts are better than others. And mostly, each has a few things that differentiate them from the rest.
Metz Camfield and Brent Carney over at CoachCal.com have had their podcast, Behind Kentucky Basketball, going for a while now. Their recently published podcast, episode 13: “Don’t forget to bring your hardhats” was particularly interesting to me. The duo discuss the tough stretches of the SEC ahead on UK’s schedule, along with other topics like how Wenyen Gabriel has been playing lately and the issue of the whistle-happy SEC refs.
If you want a little more insight to Kentucky Basketball than you’re already getting from checking KSR upwards of 10 times a day (don’t lie, we all do it), then why not check out a podcast from Coach Cal’s own website. Give episode 13 a listen below.
Quick plug for a podcast that started back near the beginning of college football season, the Duck and Cover Podcast. Duck and Cover was started by a classmate and friend of mind from my time at the University of Kentucky, Allan Ducker; however, he has now brought in two co-hosts, Curtis Schmiedebusch and KSR’s very own Jack Pilgrim. As an avid listener to their podcast, I can honestly say it is a really good mix of sports knowledge paired with entertainment. The three do a really good job of staying up to date with what is going on in the sports world, and their varying ages give some different perspectives. Check out their latest episode here. Not to mention their new logo is top notch.
