If you ask most people, Octavius Ellis shouldn’t even have played today. Ellis was ejected from Thursday’s game against Purdue for throwing a forearm, but because it wasn’t considered “fighting,” he was eligible for today’s game.

Ellis earned himself a place in the BBN Enemy Hall of Fame today for his chippy performance, which got him fouled of the game. Ellis tried his best to get under Kentucky’s skin, getting tangled up in three sketchy fouls. I’m still not entirely sure why Aaron Harrison was called for the technical when Trey Lyles and Ellis got in a scuffle, but the fans turned on Ellis after that, booing him loudly on each possession. When Ellis finally sat down after his fifth foul, the crowd rejoiced.

This man in the white polo’s still ready to go at him:

Thanks for the tip! Q104 in Campbellsville also streams everything on Tunein Radio. I had forgotten about that until I saw your tip. “Shhhhhhhh, don’t tell Mark Emmert!”

Ellis never had a hurt back he left because of 2 fouls. Why coaches try and BS people with these phony injuries is silly. Hampton did the same thing with that Chievous dude when all of a sudden he plays his butt off.

Chievous has the heart of his dad (Derrick Chievous was a beast in college)…that kid played hurt…was limping all game…and kept coming even after Hampton was down by 30…comparing him to ANY Cincy kid is an insult…last game vs the #1 team in the nation, storied UK…no way he’s missing that game over an ankle sprain…moxie that kid…Cincy kids…the opposite

Verne Luntquist needs to go ahead and retire. He was great at one time, but now he is horrible. Saying the game is over with nine point lead with 10 minutes left, talking other nonsense in a competitive game.

Verne is a legend. He is a color man. He’s awesome in Basketball and Football – as a color guy, a splendid raconteur. That’s what he does. I’m sorry you don’t like him; he’s awesome, he’s a National Treasure, and he won’t be around forever. I love the guy and he, like Vitale, gets the choice gigs. That’s honorable.

plus it was his voice that vehemently confirmed that Christian Laettner had in fact stepped on Aminu Timberlake in the 92 game on purpose with the confirming and authoritative “Yes he did”…he gets a pass…

I have to cut Ellis a bit of a break after hearing what happened to his mom when he was a kid. However, he does have t take responsibility for himself at some point. Prayers for him in dealing with losing his mom in such a tragic way.

I only wish Cal would of had the balls to come out after the game and say ‘That was the dirtiest team I’ve played against in my 35 years”

      No dirtier than Arkansas though.

They did what they thought they needed to do to win and so did we. If you have less talent, but a lot of big, strong guys and you feel you have to push, shove and rabbit punch to try to get the superior team to lose their heads then so be it. We didn’t lose our heads, so we won. I have more respect for our team now for the way they handled it. We are professionals-and the irony there does not escape me.

Ellis has choose to be human trash, what ever happen to his Mom hasn’t had any to do with becoming trash..Many people have tragic things happen them..

He’s a dirty player, he’s lucky UK’s kids are full of class and didn’t go at him. Those kids have ice water in their veins for the most part. Other than harrison being silly, i think they handled it perfectly. They let the game shut him up, and shut him up it did.

Polo shirt guy is mean mugging the HELL out of him, hehe.

Here is the NCAA in a nutshell:
Octavius Ellis threw a punch at a player in the last game, and was ejected. If the guy had swung back, Eliis would have been barred from playing today, too.

I love the fact that the Cincy players said afterwards that their plan was to be physical with UK (basically calling UK soft) yet also wondered aloud why so many fouls were called against them…really??? that’s like a mugger wondering why he was arrested after committing a crime IN FRONT OF THE COPS…LOL…idiots those Bearcat boys…and I say boys, cuz none of them were men…and as for Chievous (as someone previously mentioned)…he has the heart of his dad (Derrick Chievous was a beast in college)…that kid played hurt…was limping all game…and kept coming even after Hampton was down by 30…comparing him to ANY Cincy kid is an insult Quinton Chievous…great effort from a great kid
