Nerlens Noel narrows free agency decision to Wizards, Lakers, Thunder, and Pelicans

Former Kentucky big man Nerlens Noel has narrowed his list to four teams: the Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Yahoo! Sports’ Shams Charania reported the news.

Noel has spent the last season and a half with the Dallas Mavericks, where he averaged a combined 6.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and a steal per contest.

The former Wildcat played in just 30 games last season, starting just six of them. He averaged a career-low 15.7 minutes per game.

Each team in contention has another former Kentucky player on the roster, with Washington having John Wall, the Lakers having Julius Randle, the Thunder having Patrick Patterson, Dakari Johnson, and Hamidou Diallo, and the Pelicans with DeMarcus Cousins (for now), Anthony Davis, and Darius Miller.

I say if the Pels can sign Noel, pick up KAT, pull in WCS, and get Cousins to stay, they’d have one hell of a starting five
