We are 88 days away from adding at least three new members to the Cats in the NBA family. Malik Monk, De’Aaron Fox and Bam Adebayo are all expected to declare for the NBA Draft at some point in the near future. Monk and Fox have consistently been predicted to go in the top-10, while Bam is predicted to go in the latter part of the first round.
Here is one of the more up-to-date Mock Drafts.
The only three Kentucky players that this draft has getting drafted are projected to go in the first 21 picks. How do these players fit that respective team?
De’Aaron Fox to Orlando
Current Cats in Orlando: Jodie Meeks
Fox to Orlando would help the Magic with the point guard spot. Currently, the Magic turn to Louisiana-Lafayette alum Elfird Payton. Payton has a consistent body of work, but a guard like Fox would help transform the Magic team.
Malik Monk to Dallas
Current Cats in Dallas: Nerlens Noel
Monk will obviously bring elite scoring to the Mavs. The Mavs need his shooting and explosive ability to play as a nice compliment to point guard Yogi Ferrell.
Bam Adebayo to Oklahoma City
Current Cats in OKC: Enes Kanter
Adebayo will most likely be best suited to play the four in the NBA. On a team littered with guards and centers, Adebayo could be a perfect fit for the Thunder. I would also love to see him under Billy Donovan, who I still say is one of my favorite all-time coaches.
Note: Why would Phoenix take Ball over Fox? Why not have a team with Knight, Bledsoe, Ulis, Booker and Fox?
