Despite his inability to rebound or play defense, Malik Monk is still one of the best players in all of college basketball.
Kentucky’s star freshman currently sits just outside the Top 10 in scoring with 21.9 points per game (best in the SEC) and his 3.2 three-pointers per game also has him among the best in the nation.
That insane scoring ability is why Bovada currently has Monk fourth in its race for the AP Player of the Year Award with 7-to-1 odds he takes the trophy. Only Frank Mason, Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball are more likely to win it, according to Bovada’s odds:
|Frank Mason, Kansas||5/2|
|Josh Hart, Villanova||4/1|
|Lonzo Ball, UCLA||6/1|
|Malik Monk, Kentucky||7/1|
|Justin Jackson, North Carolina||15/2|
|Luke Kennard, Duke||12/1|
Finish strong, 5.
