Just a week into the NBA season, ESPN’s Chad Ford is already looking ahead to next season. Breaking down each position, Ford lists Monk as the NBA’s top shooting guard prospect, the No. 8 player overall.
“Monk’s stock took a major leap when he wowed scouts at Kentucky’s pro day. His combination of elite athleticism (45-inch vertical) and slashing ability had a few scouts comparing him to a young Russell Westbrook.”
NBA scouts geek when they watch him play.
“I think he’s got a chance to be the most dynamic scorer in college basketball this year,” one NBA scout said. “He’s very, very aggressive with the ball and he can score it from anywhere.”
Can you blame them? I mean, come on.
Earlier this week, Ford ranked the point guards, placing De’Aaron Fox as the No. 5 prospect, categorized as a “potential NBA starter.”
