LSU goes down at Alabama, falls behind UK in standings

Kentucky’s path to the SEC title got a little easier with some help from our friends at Alabama. The Crimson Tide knocked off LSU in Tuscaloosa, 88-82, to drop the Tigers behind Kentucky and Auburn in the league standings. Adding to the defeat, Alabama’s Herb Jones played in a full cast on his wrist and had 17 rebounds and hit two one-handed free throws late in the game to help put it away.

Kentucky can add to its lead on LSU if it can win in Baton Rouge this coming Tuesday night. LSU will be playing with some desperation after dropping three of four to fall to 9-3 in conference play.

As for Auburn, those Tigers just tipped off against Mizzou at Mizzou. With a little more help today, the Cats could go to sleep tonight with sole possession of first place.

Go Mizzou.

Bama tried to give it away. I fully expect LSU to thump us Tues night. UK will struggle to rebound and play defense without fouling.

Sorry about your luck JT!! That shiiit Isn’t happening my friend. Kentucky may have had to play hard to win this today but that doesn’t change anything. We’ll be ready to rock and roll Tuesday and may run them out of their own town! Cal will have them playing great and Cats win by 10 plus! Right it down, print it off and put it on your refrigerator, the Cats are just now playing as a team and it’s on!!

I don’t think they will thump us…. I don’t know if we will win the game but I believe that the game will be very competitive and Kentucky will have a chance at the end to win the game.. IMO it will go down to who executes better down the stretch… I think we will shoot the ball better Tuesday night also.. This UK team has had a problem playing to the level of their competition both ways… They have shown up big in big games and struggled to beat teams that they should have beat easily.. Kind of like today we should have won by more than we did.. But hey that is basketball and all that matters at the end is WINNING!!!! I like our team…

Mizzou giving Auburn all they can handle, with Auburn having one guy out with a hammy and another in the locker room with a flagrant-2.

Coupled with a Louisville loss, looking like a lot of good results for UK fans tonight.

Auburn goes down at Mizzou. I’ll say one thing, Mizzou was 11-13 (3-8) but their fans support the team…place was a madhouse.
Cats all alone in 1st place.
