Louie Dampier is at Camp Cal today

John Calipari says the players are struggling with shooting, so he brought in a specialist: Louie Dampier. The All-American is 5th on UK’s all-time scoring list with 1,575 points. Maybe he can teach these young whippersnappers a thing or two.

    Louie is a Hoosier who was deadly when he squared up to the basket. I saw many of his games at UK and later with the Ky Colonels. He became effective at shooting by putting up an endless number of correct repetitions over many years from all over the court. His muscle memory was so good, he could hit shots from 20′ in blindfolded…

    One of the greatest three-point shooters I’ve ever seen. Holds all the ABA records regarding the three point shot.

    He is also the all-time scoring leader in the ABA, as well as the assists leader. Truly, a record that cannot be broken.
