LOOK: Chairback Seats are coming along at Rupp Arena

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, Kentucky head coach John Calipari posted the above picture on his Twitter page. The installation process of the chairback seats is fully underway and is expected to be completed by the start of the season, but this is one of our first true looks at the progress that is being made.

The rest of the Rupp Arena renovations have been put on hold with the club areas not coming until the start of next season.

Construction Delays the Opening of Rupp Arena Club Areas

As someone that has spent many games crammed in the upper deck, the chairback seats are going to improve things drastically. I think it will definitely motivate the average fan to attend more games because they will actually get more room. Plus, for those fans that are taller than 6-feet, we might actually get at least a little bit of legroom.

    24,000 sounded impressive…

Now we will have to impress them by saying we have chair backs…

I must say it does look better with no one in them… Maybe with an empty arena, it might look better. So we have that…
