    Lexslamman… first of all, that’s stupid. Second, what do athletic scholarships have to do with what’s going on now?

      Lex is not stupid nor wrong. The scholarship is the lynchpin of ‘amateurism’ in that it contains the language prohibiting compensation. I had academic grant to UK and could have accepted $50 handshakes or posed for fundraising on my likeness. Only athletic scholarships prohibit NCAA violations.
