C-A-T-S CATS! CATS! CATS!
If there are a bunch of doom and gloom callers today, I’m going to go crazy. This team has a lot of room to grow still, but they had the cards stacked against them today and fought to what probably should have been a victory.
everytime i see Democratic Caucus i see Demarcus Cousins or I’m on drugs.
Hillary can take the Nevada Demarcus Cousins; nothing beats the Kentucky version.
oh no I’m am on drugs.
DWill has a sprained ankle according to papa Willis.
Matt, please check the actual wording regarding what automatically triggers a technical. A list is being posted elsewhere that, if accurate, makes it clear that slamming the ball to the floor – in and of itself – does not trigger a “T”. If that’s true, it was a purely selective call, not “the correct call”. Here’s what has been posted:
Class A Unsporting Technical Infractions
Art. 1. A player or substitute committing an unsportsmanlike act including, but not limited to, the following:
Disrespectfully addressing an official or gesturing in such a manner as to indicate resentment.
Using profanity or vulgarity; taunting, baiting or ridiculing another player or bench personnel; or pointing a finger at or making obscene gestures toward another player or bench personnel.
Inciting undesirable crowd reaction.
Contacting an opponent, while the ball is dead, in an unnecessary, unacceptable and excessive manner.
Flagrantly (severe or extreme) contacting an opponent while the ball is dead.
A flagrant noncontact infraction that involves extreme, sometimes persistent, vulgar, abusive conduct when the ball is dead or live.
Participating after having been disqualified (noncontact flagrant 2 technical).
Leaving the playing court and going into the stands when a fight may break out or has broken out (flagrant noncontact infraction).
Fighting as in Rule 10-5.
Disrespectfully contacting an official
wow…
Lets face it, officials have carte blanche to make any call they want. Their calls don;t have to be rules based. There’s no accountability, so why not get your name mentioned on SportsCenter?
Issac won’t make that mistake in this years tourney run or the next!!
I love UK and I only hope the best for Skal; but I don’t know how anyone with any sense could use a draft pick on Skal. He was completely in over his head all night and I’m not even talking about the missed FT. Did love the fight they showed. Exemplified their leader Ulis.
He’s been in over his head all season. Just saying.
You two to be happy about it.
Since it wasn’t an injury situation, whoever call subbed in would have to take the free throws. Cal decided who would sub in.
*whoever Cal subbed in
Yes, Cal picked the sub. But Matt does make a good point, could another coach blow a kids redshirt?
“When an injured player is unable to attempt his free throw try(s), the coach from the opposing team shall select one of the four remaining players on the playing court to attempt the free throw try(s). When the foul is flagrant or the player is bleeding and the injured player is unable to attempt the free throw try(s), the injured player’s coach shall select any player or team member to attempt the free throw try(s).”
That’s from the 2014-2015 rules. I’ll have to look at this year’s, but the opposing coach has to select from the remaining players on the court, not from the bench.
Section 6, Article 3.f
Maybe the greatest rivalry in the state of Indiana
Valpo/IUPUI laughs at your rivalry
I was thinking the whole game, too many jumpers from Briscoe, he should take it to the rack. I wonder if he’s scared he’ll get fouled and have to shoot freethrows
Not surprised Skal was on his knees when the final buzzer sounded.
Listen, we won that game. Most likely he sinks em both or the first and a slim chance of a 3 or they likely go for two with 9 seconds and a second OT. We won it, the ref took it. I don’t think he had it out of UK, he’s just an example of any employee who no longer can make a judgement but reacts, like a robot. What kind of ref calls a T against a happy 18 year old when his team is up one, with 9 seconds left and he’s just made a fantastic defensive play? Aren’t refs supposed to shy away from the whistle so they don’t decide a game?
It’s BS, and I hate that this makes it even harder to get to a 3 seed, which we need, but losing twice in OT makes us tougher.
Poor baby. Grow up and act like a man.
