Last time we took an L, but tonight we bounce back.

      Hopefully, they won’t get 44 FT’s tonight.

      9pm

Count me among those who actually prefer the 9 pm games (if I ass-u-me that it starts on time). Most of the 7 pm games, I watch on DVR at least an hour after they start.

I hate 9pms. I get up at 4:30am so I’m usually in bed by 10. I’m not sure if I’ll even be able to stay awake but I’m going to try.

I actually met a guy once who said he was a “Hair Club for Men” customer (back in the 90’s), and he said they actually put snaps under your skin in your head and that wig snaps on (*shudders*). That’s how they showed dudes on their commercials swimming and stuff and looking like their hair was natural. Maybe that’s what Bill’s is.

cg, it gives me a headache to even think about that. Maybe magnets would be better. Ha!

As someone who had a nice head of hair as a young man, but is now on a collision course with baldness, I can’t imagine feeling so insecure that I would resort to fake hair.

I’ve watched Miss State 4-5 times this season; I also had them pegged as a tournament team…we’ll have to bring our A game.

    • ClutchCargo
      10:20 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

Are you saying they will win the SEC tournament, or are they good enough to get an at-large bid? I haven’t watched them, so I honestly don’t know.

    • runningunnin.454
      10:26 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

Probably an at-large bid. This year is funny, everyone is taking losses; Miss State is 5-3 and 14-7; one advantage we have is that they don’t play particularly well on the road. But they did win at Florida.

  4. RealCatsFan
    10:20 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

I’ll just say this – if we get the same benefit of the whistle that Auburn got Saturday night, then we win going away.

How can a team be expected to play aggressively, especially in the paint, if they have to worry about getting a foul called on them for breathing on the opponent?

    • runningunnin.454
      10:41 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

You can’ play aggressively in that situation; like the Fox-Monk team against UNCheat; 4 starters on the bench in the 1st half, and the flow of the game is set.

    • runningunnin.454

At least it’s mostly sports, with just one detour to Iowa. BTW, Iowa is pretty good this year; they’re a tournament team.

    • runningunnin.454

No doubt. I have always wondered why Iowa and New Hampshire are such big deals; do we believe the rest of the country is going to follow their lead?

No RG, the landscape is littered with folks who won one or both those states and didn’t win the nomination of their party, and some did little or nothing afterwards.

    • runningunnin.454
      10:58 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

That is disturbing; there would be no legitimate reason to go armed at that event. Even if you carry, leave it in your car.

I got pulled away for a bit, what did I miss??

    • runningunnin.454
      11:04 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

The fired dance team coach showed up at a UL baseball event with a firearm, and evidently shot himself in the leg.

    • RealCatsFan
      11:10 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

Did someone start firing towards his feet and yell “DANCE!”?

    • ClutchCargo
      11:11 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

Apparently, there is some question about whether he was actually attending the event or was at the hotel for some other reason. Either way, that dude seems unhinged, to say the least.

    • chris gettelfinger is not walking through that door
      11:30 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

RG, I haven’t been able to listen much, but one problem with leaving it in your car is you can get mugged and more on the way to and from the event. Also, I know someone who carries in the car but not in stores, and plenty of people have gotten assaulted and worse in Walmart.

    • runningunnin.454
      11:35 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

Yeah, but most hotels and stores can ask you to leave, even if you have a concealed carry permit.
Maybe the dance coach was just at the hotel trying to recover some of his memorabilia.

    • ClutchCargo
      11:48 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

If it is properly concealed, no store or hotel will ask you to leave. I can only guess that he didn’t have his weapon secured in a holster that protects the trigger.

      11:48 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

There have been a lot of incidents of guns being stolen out of vehicles because people leave them in their cars and don’t bother to lock the doors. Crazy that some are so irresponsible. And we wonder how guns wind up in the wrong hands…

    • StillBP
      11:37 am February 4, 2020 Permalink

haha well it’s kind of a choice. I can start my work day at time before 9am but I like to come in at 6:30 so I can be off at 3pm. Gives me time to get to the gym and have dinner at a decent time. I live in Lex but work in Frankfort, and have to walk the dog every morning before work. So 4:30 it is! I just don’t like working until 4 or after and having to get back to Lex and then start my evening routine.

    • runningunnin.454

We will be fortunate to get Drennan; yeah he would be beloved here, but USC with the weather and culture is a tough competitor. Maybe being close to home and playing in the SEC will help us.

It’s not just Rupp crowds that are shrinking, guys. College sports has been transformed into a made for TV event, and it’s just not as desirable to actually go to the games. Football is an exception for me, though. It’s a day-long event.
