Kentucky’s Managers Win the Opener in the Battle for the Bluegrass

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Kentucky beat Louisville in a basketball game. This time the contest was not played at Rupp Arena.
Every year on the night before the rivalry is renewed, the managers of each respective team face off in a friendly game of basketball. This year, the Wildcat managers took down Chris Mack’s managers 69-65 thanks to an incredible shooting performance by the Cats.
The Joe Craft Center lights are out for good after Jonas Alger knocked down 12 three-pointers to score 40 of his team’s 69 points. TWELVE THREES?!?!?!? Get this guy a uniform. That’s actually not the most threes he’s knocked down in one of these contests this year. Alger knocked down 13 against Georgia Tech’s managers.
Taylor Berryman grabbed 21 rebounds last night and Kevin G. added a 14-point, 11-assist double-double. It’s the second-straight victory for UK’s manager’s over UofL’s. Last year’s ended with some heroics from behind the three-point line.
Down 27 in the second half. We rallied and beat our hated rival on a buzzer beating 3 pointer! 60-58! L’s Down! Go Cats! #LouisvilleHateWeek @KentuckyMBB @KySportsRadio @JayBilas @DickieV @ManagerGames_ pic.twitter.com/ojwkrFAmtV

Were there any fights? America wants to know! What happened to “Hate Week”? Perhaps Christmas got in the way.
