Kentucky will play Tennessee in the SEC Tournament Title

Kentucky will have an opportunity to taste revenge tomorrow when the Cats take the Scottrade Center court with the Tennessee Volunteers to decide the SEC Tournament Title.

The Vols advanced to the finals after an 84-66 win over Arkansas.  It was a game that looked a lot like Kentucky’s semifinal victory.  Tennessee couldn’t miss, and Arkansas couldn’t keep up.

A Kentucky win would give the Cats four straight SEC Tournament Titles for the first time since 1992-95.  A loss to Tennessee would give UK an 0-3 record vs. the Vols this season.  Kentucky has not had an 0-3 record vs. Tennessee since the Cats fell 75-69 in overtime of the 1979 SEC Tournament Title.

It all begins tomorrow at 1:00 ET on ESPN.

We got this. This will be a good litmus test to see exactly where we are at as a NCAA tourny team.

Almost always has them ready by March regardless of regular season. Not many coaches out there that can do that

its only been done twice in history. UK in 2012 and Duke in 2015. its unsettling but history shows time and time again that experience wins titles before star power. LOL UK almost accidentally won the title in 2014 if that counts for anything

BigBlueNationDude-you can’t receive any attention in your own life so you come on here to stir up s*** to true die hard fans with your dumb a** comments…keep making yourself look unreasonable, uneducated, and misinformed about any quality that defines what it takes to be successful

If u think by the way we played today we are gonna lose youre outta your mind. We are playing better every game. Only thing we have to do tomorrow is rebound

Yup I agree with you 100% Scott rebounding is the key

its gonna be tough…. UGA and Bama both put the weight of the team on basically one players shoulders and thus far Cats have made it priority to shut the “man” down and force the other 4 players on the court to make up for their star player to win and neither UGA or bama have been able to pull through. UK will have to account for all players on the court if they are to win. it can happen and I feel pretty good about it but if one of Tennessee dudes are struggling they have the talent where a next man up can produce

if we have to play tomorrow like we played today its going to be a grind to say the least

  8. DelrayCat

I don’t understand why Tennessee is not given credit due them by national media. The SEC is the best it has ever been, and UT has basically the same record/resume as Kansas who is widely viewed as a #1 seed…maybe only second to UVa. But the bottom line is….we can beat them.
Which means we can beat ANYONE. Bring ’em on!

Our ‘bigs’ have to play great tomorrow. TN pushed us around in both previous games. Fouls will play a huge role in this game. If we get Green and Shous ( spelling?), we could be in foul trouble early. Go Cats!

Slater refuses to answer my one question. Has he even shot a basketball without using a joystick? The answer is no obviously or he would answer. So what makes you think you’re an expert? Come BBNDude/Slater answer the question.
