In only the second Saturday of the college basketball season, North Carolina has lost a basketball game. The Tar Heels traveled to the Missouri Valley to take a 71-67 loss to Northern Iowa. Even without Marcus Paige, North Carolina was fighting from behind for most of the game.
At least they warmed up that #1 spot for us. It’s time to kick back and get cozy, because we’re going to be here for awhile.

It is only right that the cheater Roy Williams loses the top spot. They will lose more no doubt because Cheats deserve to lose.
But their cheating football team won today. The whole damned athletic dept should be on probation, but nothing is going to happen to them.
I’m glad UNC lost, but I don’t like us being #1 this early. We aren’t ready for it.
Agree. Solid reasoning. We definitely had a backslide in effort and execution last night. We have the pieces to be number one all season but it can be a heavy burden to carry.
In other news Pitt is scoring at will on the UL Tardnals and lead at the half 35-17.
Sorry now with a pick six by Pitt they lead now 42-17 with 35 seconds left in first half.

Don’t look now, but Louisville just scored to get within 8, and they forced Pitt into a 3-and-out. Louisville has had several favorable calls by the officials.
So Kansas, Duke and NC all lose this week. Early on, it’s a Kentucky world again.
UK may get the #1 ranking, but not so fast on “be here for a while”. Without Tyler Ulis great game UK loses to Wright State. Cal said there would be losses. I believe him now! My hope is Skal learns quickly.
Yeah I’m not as optimistic either but fortunately there’s not a lot of other great teams. The big physical teams will cause us a lot of problems. We actually do not shoot it great from deep and do not have a post scorer. Clog up the middle and control the boards and we’re in trouble. Unfortunately UL maybe the kind of team that can do that.

I would prefer for us to take any losses early in the season to keep us hungry and under the radar.
