Used to hate seeing refs running up and down the court with whistles ” in mouth ” in stead of in hand…..the time it takes to raise a whistle and blow it gives the brain time to decipher a foul vs. a no call….
to be fair, a referee should never NOT have their whistle in their mouth while the game is going on. It’s kind of protocol
