Kentucky to host Kansas in Big 12/SEC Challenge

Kentucky will get another shot at Kansas in Rupp Arena this upcoming season in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, UK announced Thursday morning.

The fourth-ranked Cats hosted the second-ranked Jayhawks in the 2016-17 edition of the Big 12/SEC Challenge. ESPN College Gameday was in town for that one, as was Michael Buffer, but UK lost on its own floor, 79-73.

The entire schedule looks like this:

Alabama at Baylor

Arkansas at Texas Tech

Florida at TCU

Texas at Georgia

Kansas at Kentucky

Iowa State at Ole Miss

South Carolina at Oklahoma State

West Virginia at Tennessee

Kansas State at Texas A&M

Vanderbilt at Oklahoma

All games will be played Saturday, January 26.

We’re gonna have some good games this yr cal messed up last yr not joining the pk80 nike invitational. Think we would have been better after a tournament like that. Cal hid those kids a bit last yr schedule was not tough enough besides sec.

There wasn’t an invite to accept nor would it have been wise for a high school team to play and lose 3 games in 3 days against mediocre college teams. The in season tournies are really only benifcial for power 5 schools that are not considered high level conference teams.

@FlatTops – there was definitely an invite. It was every brand-name Nike team except Kentucky

Lol!!!Please tell me how it was strong sos numbers are all pretty similar for top 20 teams. With nc and kansas ahead of us. Think we were 5 like it should be. We played Kansas and looked good lost by a few. Then we slumped and only beat Lou and wv who were down. UCLA got us Missouri no Michael porter and there 17 yr old who reclassifies, tn,fl, we got away with a few by the grace of god.we didn’t play great. sec was rough and that happened at the end we’re lucky we won a few late for a decent push and got the sec tourney. and only nova and Virginia looked good with Virginia’s scoring problem they were no real threat and we just looked ok on paper compared to others bc no one was great and had losing streaks.but the whole season rhythm was off. We didn’t play that tournament and that’s why. Not prepared. first 15 games of the season had like 2 good games and they thought there shit didn’t stink and hit a rough patch. I would of rather seen them go freshman crazy in the pk environment and if they got bounced it meant nothing. We even had a great draw in the tourney so no excuse on that either. These are freshman here for a yr put them to the test and not hide them like cal doesn’t do and says if you come here I can’t hide you. He didn’t want the young cats to get upset and momma beared those young men.Maybe it was best ,cal is the man and this is just my opinion.

This might be the best schedule we have ever had! KU, Duke, UCLA, and UNC. Love it. It’s funny because Louisville is one of our easiest games now. Not even a rivalry anymore.

You’re right, my bad. We play Utah. Still a great schedule. SEC should have 5 top 25 teams as well.
