Kentucky pushes past IUP 86-64

It wasn’t pretty, but Kentucky pulled away from Indiana University of Pennsylvania 86-64.

Reid Travis led the way for the Cats with 22 points and 14 rebounds, by far the most consistent player on the floor. PJ Washington was close behind with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Tyler Herro bounced back from his cold performance vs. Transy with 17 points, including 5-7 from beyond the arc.

All of that being said, for the second straight game, the Cats looked sloppy, with too many turnovers and defensive breakdowns. John Calipari will have plenty of teachable moments to use as we barrel towards Tuesday’s season opener vs. Duke.

More as the night goes on before we shift back to football…

A LOT to clean up before Tuesday night’s showdown with the Dukies. I hope we’re ready.

You guys do realize that this is what freshman do, right? It takes a while for everything to come together.

Yeah that IUP team beat Morehead state 91-84 the other day. So we basically let a Mid-Major team stick around too long… which we always do this time of year.

This iup team is really good just like our last opponent. The two exhibition teams we played will have 20+ win seasons each

Quade, quickly, Hagans & green ugh. How can all four of those guys stink it up so bad? Jeez these guys (team) are no where near where they should be right now . Coach will have a nice product by feb though … it always works out like that but dang . So far we’re just a bunch of hype. It looks like the team expects to win just because they’re wearing a Kentucky jersey . Everybody just waits for someone else to be the savior … I don’t really like it .

What’s the +/- in the last column in the box score?

How the player impacts team performance; the overall impact a player has on team success.
