Kentucky proves that Cats are greater than Dawgs

This year’s Kentucky Wildcats aren’t starting like mad men, but today it did not stop them from blowing out Georgia.  After six early turnovers, the Cats flipped the switch near the 13-minute mark turning Georgia turnovers (10 before half) into transition points before blowing the Dawgs out of the gym 79-54.

Georgia cut the lead to six at one point in the second half, but without 6’3 SG Kenny Gaines the Cats attacked the weak Georgia zone off the dribble to get great midrange looks to complement Lob City.  The Cats’ ball movement was possibly the best all year, balancing the scoring with four players in double figures.

Stick around for more post-game coverage and talk about the game in the comment section.

How about that final lineup! How many games does that starting lineup win? I wouldn’t bet against them.

Cats play well and win big, and it’s silent on here. I’m starting to think my theory that 90% of the visitors/commenters on here are Tard fans is being proven correct.

Anyway, good effort by the cats. Attacked with aggression, shared the ball, shot well from mid-range, three, and FT. Nice little pick-me-up for the road stretch ahead.

Couldn’t get out to Rupp today and didn’t watch on live TV. DVR’d the game and will look at it later- it just seems the better thing to do for a non-NCAA tourney to listen to Tom, Mike and Matt.

From the radio broadcast it seems we are learning it’s OK to shoot threes, just don’t do it the first chance you get-wear out the defense. Make the free throws, no matter how Cal downplays them, they matter, even in a blowout. Be happy, you’re young and playing for the best basketball program there is. Enjoy it, you may never get the chance again.

Chaz – well said. I don’t think the threes were “settled for”, more like created open looks. We are gonna have to shoot over zones at some point, especially in the Tourney. This team, I believe, CAN shoot.

The next 3 weeks are going to tell the tale of this team. 5 road games and 2 home games. With one of the home games being Florida. I’m praying we get through it without more than 2 loses.

You’d better pray real hard. I see the Cats losing 6 out of the 7 and
their season coming to an inglorious end as if it hasn’t already to
      those in the know.

Shelton – Judging by this comment and comments made recently, it’s pretty obvious…. you don’t know your ass from a hole in the ground.

He shot 5-8 and as a team we were 80%, I’ll take that any day.

She just wanted an excuse to use Poythress’ name like that (AlPo). Because it’s also a dog food. Bunny thinks that’s funny.

The way Randle is Progressing. The way he can handle the ball, starting to hit some 3’s. He could turn into the next Lebron James

Hey Matt, how do you think cheerleaders in college get to the point where they have won 20 National Championships? It’s from those cheerleading competitions that you just said “creeper you out”!!! Those kids work hard! Respect them. Two of my grandchildren are there competing today. Shout out to Gracie and Evie! Go CheerZone and Go CATS!

FINALLY a dominating win. A complete game to boot. Now let’s see them win on the road in a tough place against a team with more than seven players available.
