Kentucky opens as four-point underdogs at Texas Tech

The Kentucky Wildcats will head to Lubbock, TX as underdogs on Saturday afternoon.

This evening, the official line for Kentucky’s matchup with Texas Tech was released, with the Wildcats coming in as 4-point underdogs. “OddsShark,” “BetOnline,” and “Sports Betting” all have their official lines set at Texas Tech -4.

The only gambling outlet without a four-point spread? “Opening,” which has the Wildcats listed as 5.5-point underdogs.

While OddsShark has the Red Raiders officially favored by four points, their prediction service believes Kentucky will actually win by an average score of 71.9 to 69.6. Meanwhile, ESPN – which lists Texas Tech as five-point favorites – gives the Red Raiders a 70.1% chance to defeat the Wildcats. TeamRankings.com – a website dedicated to generating game predictions using objective mathematical models – gives Kentucky a score of 63.7 and Texas Tech a score of 68.8.

On the year, Kentucky and Texas Tech are both 8-9-0 against the spread.

What do you guys think? Fair?

4 point underdog to a six loss team, 3-3 in their conference, shows just how bad we are perceived by everyone.
