Considering Kentucky’s recent Jekyll & Hyde mentality, tomorrow’s game against Alabama in Tuscaloosa is suddenly huge. Outside of the Duke game, the Cats have been awful on the road this season, something Vegas seems to have picked up on. The line is out for the game and Kentucky opened as a 4-point favorite. It’s already been bet up to 4.5, but honestly, four points seems pretty fair to me.
I’ll be in Tuscaloosa tomorrow, and honestly, I’m not sure what to expect, not only from the Cats, but from the crowd itself. School isn’t back in session yet at Alabama and Avery Johnson and the Crimson Tide are so worried about low attendance at the game they’re offering free student admission and opening the dorms early to encourage kids to come back early. Combine that with Monday’s national title game and most Alabama fans probably won’t even know the Cats are in town.
Still, the ones that do will be loud, and Kentucky better bring it. The last thing this group needs is to start conference play with an 0-2 record on the road.
