Kentucky not included in NCAA’s Top 16 seeds as of today

Just five weeks away from Selection Sunday, the NCAA Selection Committee revealed its top 16 seeds. If the NCAA Tournament began today, Kentucky would be worse than a four-seed.

The selection committee representatives did state that the Wildcats were next team up, currently a five-seed alongside Iowa and LSU.

Kentucky still has plenty of time to build the resume and jump into the top 16 before Selection Sunday,

Why the f*ck is Michigan St still there!? Blows my mind. They oterally just lost their last 2 games & have lost 7 overall. They’ll probably lose again today at Michigan

I agree and how about duke at number 2. It’s a joke, they try and pick the tourney winners every year.

They also said Kentucky had the worst loss of the season?

How is it everyone remembers UKs loss to Evansville but Dukes sucky loss at home to a Quad 4 team is forgotten/forgiven?!

I agree Colorado.. When I saw Michigan State in there over us I couldn’t believe it… I know this I don’t want to be the number 1 seed that has to see Kentucky as their 5 seed they will have to play in the sweet 16 possibly

cares? It won’t stay that way. And if it does I would love it because I LOVE our bracket.

When they announced the new system, they continually stressed that string wins would outweigh bad losses. Whatever happened to that?

    No worries. GO CATS!

To the people complaining about Duke, it’s because there team sheet looks pretty solid. The SFA loss is a quadrant 3 loss, and 8 spots away from being quadrant 2. Other than that the loss at Clemson was a 2 and to Louisville was a 1. That’s a strong resume.

Duke is trash Ryan, always has been and always will be. I hope we somehow get matched up with them at some point in the tourney. Give them the beat down those premadonnas deserve

Over ratted big ten. If they are so great why don’t they have a number one seed two seeds. Wtfe the top teams in the SEC no respect as usual.

And you think we deserve it? ?

I don’t see Evansville, Ohio State, Utah, Auburn, or South Carolina there either!

It’s another UNDER ACHIEVING year for Coach PROCESS…

    GO BIG BLUE!

Not too concerned. Lots of basketball left to play.

True, it is puzzling how we can be ranked 15th and 16th and not be int the top 16 though.

As of now, we are a 5 seed. If we finish strong, there is potential to move up to a 3 seed. It’s disappointing considering that that we started the year ranked #2 and favored to win the title, but we will be dangerous in March nonetheless. As a basketball fan writ large, it should be a fun tournament this year.

Not sure what game you’re watching sphincter…

Spincr was watching the same game where a vastly more talented team (UK) got outworked, out-toughed and outhustled by a team full of 2 and 3* players. Thankfully, they remembered who they are and who UT is and pulled out a nice road win.

And won, counselor..what is your point?

My point is that is more than old watching this team build a double digit lead of 10-11 and seeing it cut at least in half within 1-3 minutes every. single. time. If my word isn’t good enough for you on that fact, go back and look at all of the instances where Cal has talked about it over the past month and check out the audio of the the Goose calling in to the Leach Report this week to say the same thing.

We win by 13 on the road in a tough environment and honestly the only thing that kept Tennessee in the game down the stretch were some timely 3s. We controlled the game from start to finish, some bad turnovers in the first half, other than that we outplayed them from the get go. So I don’t get it when a guy says we’re playing like a 7-8 seed. We hadn’t won down there since 2015..so good win by a team that’s getting better, in my opinion.

As for the “bracket,” it is already working itself out. The committee, like the media, relentlessly punishes Kentucky for every loss while other teams skate through with multiple game losing streaks. However, Michigan State already lost, WV is well on their way to a loss and a few more of these teams ahead of Kentucky will stumble along the way. If UK can limit their losses to 2 or 3 from here on out the committee HAS TO seed them as a 3 (or 2 if they were to win out or have 1 loss and get to Sunday in the SECT) in order to have any shred of credibility.
