Kentucky named Team of the Week by NCAA March Madness (Andy Katz)

Kentucky did not receive any votes in this week’s college basketball polls, but the Cats did receive Team of the Week honors from NCAA March Madness.

With the late heroics in the SEC home opener against Vanderbilt followed by an 18-point stomping of Florida in Gainesville, no team had a better run from January 4-10, as decided by Andy Katz.

“Can we say Kentucky is back?” Katz said in a video for NCAA.com. “This is significant for Kentucky. They have found themselves. Next up is Alabama, the undefeated Tide in the SEC, but Kentucky played its best basketball game of the year in the win over the Gators.”

The Team of the Week award follows Kentucky Women’s Basketball earning Team of the Week national recognition from espnW last week.
