Kentucky moves up to No. 16 in the AP Poll

The AP voters were impressed with Kentucky’s victory this past weekend over North Carolina.
In the latest edition of the AP Poll, the Wildcats moved up to No. 16 in the nation.
Following Kansas’ loss to Arizona State, the Jayhawks dropped to No. 5 while Duke reclaimed the No. 1 spot. Michigan (No. 2), Tennessee (No. 3), and Virginia (No. 4) rounded out the top five.
Within the conference, Tennessee holds the top spot while Auburn (No. 12), Kentucky (No. 16), and Mississippi State (No. 19) round out the SEC.
Interestingly enough, North Carolina (8-3) still sits ahead of the Wildcats at No. 14 overall.
Check out the entire poll below:

It’ll be nice to take away those four votes next to Louisville’s name next week.

Disrespected again should’ve been more than 3 spots.
Yeah I think U.K. Is def a top 14 team. How do you explain unc being ranked ahead of U.K. With a worse record and the L in the head to head???
Well that’s because that one idiot who had us at 24 has a vote in this thing.
Reason we’re not ranked ahead of Carolina is they (the ap poll) dropped us so far after the seton hall loss, they did’nt give us the same bump after beating Carolina from start to finish.
Because we’re KENTUCKY!
Great to be hated!!
Agreed.Bulletin board material. Take it out on little brother – uavel.
It’s out of their hands the only thing they can control is how they prepare for and play Louisville, then how they prepare for and play bama, TAMU, then Vanderbilt etc……. one step at a time, the rest will come
We talk about getting disrespected but I would be mad if I was Arizona St. They were ranked ahead of us and beat the #1 team and we jumped them how does that work?
Try not to take these polls too seriously. With several good teams left on the schedule, there is plenty of opportunity to move up by beating them.
This goes to show all of us BBN that these polls only see blue, but not UK blue. And it goes back to the seton hall loss and the poll committee. But all we need to do is drive on. This Saturday, just abuse Louisville. But what this team needs is to upset Tennessee. Just plain and simple. Use Hagans in a way that he becomes the floor general. Use Travis, to become a inside presence. Keldon Johnson is our scorer. This ream needs to feed off of him. Herro, limit his three point shooting. Cause he is seriously off sometimes. But he can dish the assists. So right now, just start the mission
Agreed. The SEC is a very strong conference this year, we can move up the polls by doing well against Tennessee Auburn and Mississippi State
15 in the coaches poll, just behind UNC. UVa took too spot over Duke, proving their is a Just God in Heaven this Xmas season! Sorry Duke, maybe next year…
That’s only because UVA hasn’t played UMBC yet this year. 😉
One of the good things about the UNC win is that it stopped our slide in the polls. I think most were ready to vote us out of the top 25 at first opportunity. Turns out that reports of our demise were premature. If the UNC game is indicative or our play going forward, I think we can expect to see our stock on the upswing.
Cats are improving and looking like a team that could be a force late in the seasaon. But as usual someone from UNC is giving favors to the NCAA. No way they should be ranked above us after getting beat on a neutral court.
