Kentucky makes a big jump in latest AP Poll

Kentucky’s wins over Texas A&M and Vanderbilt weren’t pretty, but with many Top 25 teams stumbling this week, the Cats climbed six spots to No. 12 in the new AP Poll.

The top ten remained the same, with Duke, Michigan, and Tennessee making up the top three. After back-to-back wins over Auburn and Mississippi State, Ole Miss is ranked for the first time since January 2013, coming in at No. 18. On the flip side, Mississippi State fell from No. 14 to No. 24. And North Carolina only fell one spot after losing to Louisville by 21 at home. Hmm.

North Carolina, on the merit of getting clobbered AT HOME by an unranked team, drops ONE spot. The team that handed the #13 team in the country their butt spanking AT HOME, is still not ranked.
    What a flipping joke

Agreed…When Kentucky lost on a neutral floor to Seton Hall, we damn near dropped out of the top 20. Makes no sense whatsoever.

University of No Classes lost to two Ky teams…they had better avoid WKU and Murray St.

and UNC only dropped 3 in coaches poll, Louisville not ranked there either. And we went up four spots.

ACC/Big 10/SEC schools get the benefit of the doubt early in the season. In state school Murray State played both Auburn and Alabama very close on the road, and would likely beat many of these upper tier teams on a neutral court. They have a high draft NBA player in Ja Morant plus two other consistent scorers in Buchanon and Williams. Better score a bunch of points against them, because they will. Dangerous foe for about anybody from here on out! Quick and athletic on both ends of the court.

The polls are a joke! The TarHeels get beat down, and only drop one! Kentucky looses a game, and they almost get dropped from the top 25!

The TRUE ranking will all sort themselves in March, and that’s when they really matter.

Florida State loses and goes up 2 spots? I don’t care who beat them…it is a loss.

When is the last time we lost and went up in the polls?

Rankings are nothing anymore. They used to actually give you some idea of how a team was doing as the season progressed. Not anymore. Ridiculous

North Carolina has also beat some quality teams. It’s overall body of work, not 1 game.
