Kentucky loses a heartbreaker to the Dominican Republic, 62-63

After six full-length games over eight long days, the Big Blue Bahamas Tour ends in heartbreak for the ‘Cats by way of a 1-point loss to head coach Orlando Antigua’s Dominican Republic national team. Fatigue was surely a factor for the young Wildcats as they noticeably let off the gas in the contest’s closing moments, allowing the Dominicans to end the game on a 17-3 run over an eight-minute stretch. Tyler Ulis led a huge spark off the bench, but the Dominican professionals proved to be too much on their quest for revenge. KSR will have further analysis of this game shortly.

Kentucky losing to scrubs is one thing… but THREE months prior to the start of the basketball season? That’s just shameful.

    See you losers in December.

I guess you missed the game two days ago. Kentucky would be a top 30 ranked INTERNATIONAL team. Louisville would lose to the DR by 20. Nice try though!

This is why Kentucky has the dumbest fans in all of college sports, even dumber than Arkansas fans that drive razorback shaped cars. Every time someone posts something knocking the program, they’re a Louisville fan and their comments warrant responses like “7-1.” News flash, not all people polling fun at UK are Louisville fans.

Most definitely a loserville troll. Only they and iu troll here and Hoosiers are so pathetic doubt it’s them. Can’t wait for December 27th – after that will be 8-1. 2-0 in games that really count. It’s almost to the point it’s not a rivalry anymore because you losers don’t win.

Your right Professor, I guess you missed Bilas saying this was like playing 2 SEC tourneys in 8 days. They lost to a professional team by 1 point that has only played 2 games it that same time span. I guess I’m wasting time trying to explain logic to an idiot. You could tell 5 mins in they were out of gas and came close to winning because of sheer talent and still had 2 freshman stealing the show. And for any LOSERVILLE TURD fan thinking they can’t wait until December, they better be wishing for Christmas, just going to be another beat down by big brother. BBN loves Rick and Tom Crean keeping two hated programs below the CATS.

I respect Jay Bilas a lot but one comment he made several times was that along with UK having
9 High School All Americans that so doe Duke. Checking Rivals ratings at the giver yr: I find that Duke only has Sulamin, Jones Okafor and Winslow that were rated 5 stars. That’s 3 rated 5 star and the remaining 6 are 4 stars. Not that ratings are that accurate: UK has three 5 stars this year and carry over 4 from last year so that’s 7 total 5 star players on the team. If Okafor is good as people claim that might be enough to get them rated up there with UK, otherwise there is no comparison.

Im very impressed with the Cats! These guys played against the 26th ranked team in the world, not the country. They were tired, as one could expect after playing 6 games in 8 days, plus being out daily and nightly while in the Bahamas. There is nothing but positives to take away from this experience. And let those trolls talk, I dont recall any other team in the nation doing what UK just did? My opinion, they impressed and showed just how hard we are going to be to take down this season. 14. Isaac in Mobile

These trolls are hilarious. The only other team in the country with the talent to do what we just did is maybe Duke. Louisville would’ve lost half the games by 20. Indiana would have just forfeited the rest of the games and gone home after losing by 50 to Puerto Rico’s “B” team. When the regular season starts and these Cats are averaging 25 point wins, they won’t have much to say.

The more I read your reply the more I realize it has to be a joke. It’s a joke, right? Essentially our whole team came back and we added 4 top-25 recruits including a potential #1 draft pick. You guys have who? Harrell? IF he can stay out of trouble? Our second string would be a top 25 team. Your second string would be benchwarmers at Auburn.

The funny thing is, all you people complaining about the teams play today will be right back on the bandwagon when we get to one or two games a week, and this team opens 20 – 0. Well, we dont need you! Take a hike!
Having said that, this trip did provide a road map for how to beat the Cats this year: be the 7th or 8th opponent in a 10 day span. Otherwise, you might have to settle for a 12-point moral victory loss on your home floor.

Jesus boys get a grip this team doesn’t need even the first Kentucky fan to come to protect its honor. Nor does this program ever. They just rag dolled this same squad two games ago. Today’s game was not all that bad, considering that they played 6 games in 8 days, and as Bilas said, this is the only time in their career they will play real games like this. It was good to see them adjust to physical play, but like everyone would have liked to see them win this one. Anyone who watched the game could see how tired they were, but I would have loved to see Poythress with Johnson in that scenario. And to think our 2 best big men (or at least 1 and another with a ton of potential were sitting on the bench. Watching this team play makes my stomach hurt, not like last year because of how bad they played, but because I can’t figure out how we can get 12 people on the court who all deserve playing time with the way they played during this trip. I am looking forward to how this comes out and I believe this team may blow out some decent teams, and it could be ugly come December 27. Anyway, it’s August, we got to watch our Cats, so how much better could it get? Go cats.

No Louisville team EVER could have done what Kentucky did on this trip. I understand the rivalry, I get talking trash, but the is beyond ridiculous. You try to build your team up by trying to knock ours down, well it isn’t gonna happen anytime soon. Accept this, you will never have the class, accountability, respect, or overall pride it takes to be winners. I was pleasantly surprised with the Cats in the Bahamas. How many years in a row have we had to look at sloppy play early in the season and wait for them to “grow?” I really can’t pull a single bad thing away from this trip. If you can, its time to check your expectations. For them to be this far along this early in the season is a true blessing. For once, we will be strong pre-January for non-conference play.
