Herro got robbed and Grant for POY really? He flops.

Kermit Davis? Really? So leading your team to a 6th place finish is a big deal now?

Well, it was obviously Will Wade’s award until about a week ago. Just can’t believe Kermit was 2nd on the list…….

I agree with you Meeks. Andy Kennedy did the same thing Davis has done for 10 straight years. Kennedy even won a tourney title. Wade was caught on wiretap, so my choice would be Cal or Barnes. Winning coaches get overlooked every year.

Ole Miss was picked to finish last. I’m not upset Kermit won.

I don’t want to sound like a hater, but I don’t think Grant Williams deserves the POY. He flops all the time!! He needs the refs to give him calls, otherwise he isn’t very effective. The fact that he is repeating as POY is especially annoying. How many great players has this league had that didn’t go back to back POY? Is he really better than all those folks? I don’t think so. He’s definitely not a future NBA player either, IMO.

I completely disagree. Williams is a heck of a player and will definitely be in the rotation on an NBA team on day 1. That dude is a warrior and a heck of a player. Plus he doesn’t completely disappear for games like PJ seems to do. You add in his free throw shooting ability and defensive acumen and he is solid all-around. All great players, especially those who are extremely good at free throws, work to get to the line… Sure he flops, but all great players do.

I do think PJ has higher upside potential, but he could also be no better than Alex Poythress or Terrence Jones.

DelrayCat, I don’t think it’s fair to TJ to lump him in with AP. Alex did nothing at UK for 4 yrs but prove he could get the occasional dunk from the baseline, a few rebs, and in his last year+ hit a 3. TJ helped came back a 2nd yr and helped win a NC. Unfortunately, TJ has been bounced from one bad team to another, and has been very efficient and productive everywhere he’s been in the NBA. AP can’t even get meaningful minutes in the NBA, because he never pushed himself to be more than “an athlete”.

There’s only 1 “end of the year” award I, and most UK fans, really care about. Git ‘er done.
